CATRINA´S DESIGN
Are a symbol of Mexican culture and the Day of the Dead, representing elegance, tradition, and the celebration of life and death.
Meaning of catrinas:
- They are handmade by artisans using traditional techniques.
- They are a reminder that death makes us all equal.
- They are a manifestation of respect and affection for our ancestors.
- They are an affirmation that death is not the end, but part of the cycle of life.
- They are an invitation to embrace life, however short or long our stay in this world.

Embroidery Symbolism.
Rhombuses: Represent the cosmos and the cardinal points
Flowers: Represent the diversity of Chiapas' flora and the connection of the people of Chiapas to their land.
Animals: Such as the quetzal, the peacock, the macaw, and the monkey, they represent the ancestors.
Greeks and rhombuses: Represent the earth and fertility.
Human figures: Often represent ancestors or deities.
Natural elements: Such as flowers, stars, and landscapes, they reflect the beauty of Chiapas' natural environment.
Triangles: Represent masculinity, fire, and spirit.
HANDMADE BAGS
Materials that can be used to make handmade bags include fabric, thread, leather, and plastic.
Fabric: Blanket fabric, canvas fabric, 100% cotton. Thread: Macramé thread for simple, casual bags Trapillo thread for crochet bags.
Polypropylene thread, a silky and inexpensive material. Leather: Leather, a strong and durable material suede, a soft and velvety type of leather.
Synthetic leather Plastic: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) Polypropylene.
Tule: Textile material obtained from the inner bark of a plant in the Tiliaceae family.
